English Riding Supply is seeking an exceptionally successful sales leader to join the team and manage their Independent English Equestrian Channel for the US Market. This person will manage the strategy for the channel as defined by the organization as well as operational execution. 

The ideal candidate is hungry, dynamic, and loves the relationship aspect of a job such as this.  He or she is currently in a sales management role, working with independent stores on a national basis. After hours, this person would be found riding, showing, or attending English equestrian events. This ideal candidate will combine their career experience with a personal passion to make that perfect combination.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

Remote.  Expect up to 50% travel as needed.  Expected to travel with territory sales representatives and visit accounts on a regular basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Personally accomplish the following, and train others to do the same:

  • Manage independent (1099) field sales representatives. Create seasonal programs to drive sell-in and sell-through, promotional activities, and mark-down cadence.
  • Create strong relationships with retailers in the English retail channel.
  • Establish and grow independent retail accounts with independent reps.
  • Work well across the organization partnering with all company employees and leaders.
  • Lead organization of trade show and key sales events. Be available for new store openings and store events.
  • Be a subject matter expert in English Equestrian retail.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and lead external sales representatives.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • High level of organization and ability to build calendars, sell sheets, and sales presentations.
  • Ability to create a sales plan and articulate how plan will be delivered, down to account level, product level, with revenue goals and targets.
  • Ability to manage and hit deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • Hands-on, willing to roll up sleeves and be a player-coach.
  • Understands small company dynamics and resources available and gets excited about being scrappy.
  • Well versed in the English Equestrian lifestyle due to personal pursuits as a rider.
  • A consistently optimistic, can-do attitude. Appreciates the Ted Lasso approach to working relationships. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years’ experience managing a sales team.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing a sales team on a national scale.
  • Demonstrated history of hitting KPIs and achieving goals.
